Description |
A black and white postcard of the Southold Savings Bank which became the Southold Free Library. Library staff member David van Popering found this postcard and invited me to scan it. The postcard is addressed to someone in Troy, NY and the text reads: "Your cards received. Many thanks. Sprained my ankle very badly in the game on Decoration Day. Could not walk for two weeks. Am now around again but it is rather weak yet. May try to play again next Saturday but I'm not sure. ... We are having some real summer just now. Very warm. Nothing but cold and rainy weather all spring until the last week or so. ... No doubt you are sorry school is out(?) Here's hoping you have a most enjoyable vacation. Carlisle." |
