Description |
Black and white photograph of the Long Island Oyster Industry, 1932. The speediest and most efficient of the vast number of boats used in the harvesting of that delight of connoiseurs, cultivated fresh oysters from the clear, deep waters of Long Island. This vessel is equipped with the latest model diesel engines which enable her owner to speed her load of oysters to the packing house in the shortest possible time, making it possible for the oysters to be in the hands of the consumer 24 hours after they have been caught. |
